Topics

A LinkedCulture topic is a small cross-institution collection generated from semantic patterns in museum metadata. Records from any museum in the database can be grouped together when their descriptions, materials, forms, places, periods, or cultural meanings appear to belong in conversation with one another. These patterns can sometimes reveal hidden relationships between objects that would be difficult to find through a single catalog or exact keyword search. Each topic is then reviewed and shaped into a browsable collection view.
